Investments in WiMAX show the technology is already starting to gain traction. An analyst with the investment bank Rutberg & Company, Rajeev Chand, said venture capitalists invested $300 million in WiMAX companies during 2005, and that “investor uncertainty in the fixed WiMAX market is over”.Mr. Chand said WiMAX carriers raised $177 million last year. Meanwhile, WiMAX hardware sellers raised $102 million and WiMAX semiconductor companies got $48 million.
